ABOUT LIBBY ENSMINGER

Prior to becoming a massage therapist in 1999, I spent 30 years in the insurance industry.  The last few years were spent traveling 9 different states as an independent Employee Benefits Consultant advising large corporations’ employees on their insurance and benefit options.

From the very beginning of this career I knew “something” was missing.  I found myself faced with an illness that included many symptoms of unknown origins.  After
seeking medical advice I was labeled with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue and advised I needed to quit work, along with the advice I needed to make some lifestyle changes.    My immediate thought was “they are wrong”.  My assumption was they had misdiagnosed me and labeled
me with something that did not exist.  I tried to continue
to work but felt maybe there was some truth to their statements as the pain continued to worsen as the treatments seemed to render no relief.

Faced with the big question “Where do I  begin?”  After struggling with this question, I realized this journey would have to be a joint effort.  With open communication and a willingness to make changes,  my doctors were instrumental in the initial healing phase. However, I knew that the journey must also begin within.  I became painfully aware that I had stopped listening to that inner voice that guided me many years ago.  I had been operating on an autopilot mindset, without conscious realization that my body, mind, and spirit were unbalanced. My body had physically suffered as a result of this imbalance.  As my healing  journey began, I was led to CranioSacral Therapy.  Here I began discovering the real meaning of life, and was able to start the process of fulfilling my purpose on earth.

My self-awareness journey began in 1998, but I have not done it alone.  Many people have contributed to this challenge,  for which I am grateful.  My doctors, who first made me aware that I was physically ill, my friends who have been my support, my children who have been my encouragement, and my grandchildren my rewards.  However, it is God who has sustained me.  With all of this support and encouragement I completed a marathon (26.2 miles) in Honolulu in December 2002; something that would have been unattainable even before the illness.    As my journey continues I am continually meeting many wonderful supporters, friends and mentors along my journey that continue to help me grow and learn and connect my mind, body and spirit as I hope to help you.

MY GOAL:

My goal is to assist you in connecting mind, body and spirit.  I will work together with your healthcare providers to make healing possible and your journey rewarding and attainable.  I will dedicate our time together in whichever service you choose or a combination of services that we, together decide best to obtain your goal.  There might be times during this process that you may see small results, however, this usually happens when focusing on a specific path.  Healing is like peeling an onion; you peel one layer at a time.  Sometimes the layer we wish to heal the most is deep under the superficial layers.  Patience is important.  Often when we are injured, the body (mind or spirit) will compensate for that injury.  Over time, it can only compensate so much before it begins to collapse.  We often think we are getting old, when in fact, we just need to peel the “onion”.  Release those compensations and free the body, mind and spirit.  Patience is important.  Be persistent.  Be consistent. Be accountable.  But also, relax and enjoy the journey.  You will begin to feel your own body’s inner wisdom.  You will begin to heal yourself…
